Outside Scholarship Opportunities 

 

While the Foundation has many major scholarship opportunities, we also hear about scholarships offered through private organizations outside of the Community Colleges of Spokane and we wanted to share them with you.  We do our best to verify these opportunities, but we do ask that you look into them on your own, as well.

 


Autolist used car to dream car scholarship

Offering a quarterly scholarship opportunity to students who are U.S. residents and either 1.) in high school and will be attending an accredited college or university in the next school year or 2.) are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

The Recovery Village

This Health Care Scholarship offers $1,000 to students pursuing a medical-related course of study.

SCHOLARSHIPS for Student Caregivers

Caring.com has a number of scholarship opportunities for students who are also caregivers to their loved ones.  You can view a full list of these opportunities on their “Scholarships for Student Caregivers” page.  One scholarship is particular, the Caring.com Scholarship, offers two $1,500 awards to students who are enrolled in college while caring for an adult relative.

Adrian Rubin Scholarship

This $1,200 scholarship opportunity is designed to help students attain their dream career.  Current high school senior accepted into a college who will be enrolled in 2019 and current college students who haven’t reached their last year yet are eligible to apply!

OppU Achievers Scholarship

This $2,500 scholarship opportunity only requires a short essay response to apply!  Applicants must have a cumulative GPS of at least 3.0/4/0 and be enrolled full-time in high school or at least part-time in one of the following: college, graduate school, professional school, or trade school.

Minc Law Scholarship

“The Minc Law Scholarship was created with the belief that everyone who wants to continue learning in college should get the chance to do so. Minc Law has created a scholarship to give college students the chance to further their education by awarding one person a $1,500 scholarship to be applied to their college tuition bill.”

Career and Technical Scholarship

From Washington State Opportunity Scholarship: “The Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) supports Washington students on their path to high-demand trade, health care and STEM occupations. To be eligible, scholars must enroll in an approved program, such as welding, nursing or IT, at one of Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges. Scholars are eligible to receive up to $1,500 each quarter for the duration of their program, as well as support services.”  To see if your program is one of the 80 SCC programs supported, take a look at this program list!

Careers in Gear Trucking Scholarship

One scholarship recipient will be awarded a $3,500 trucking scholarship thanks to Careers in Gear!  Careers in Gear has been helping truck drivers get jobs for over 12 years now.
