Outside Scholarship Opportunities 


While the Foundation has many major scholarship opportunities, we also hear about scholarships offered through private organizations outside of the Community Colleges of Spokane and we wanted to share them with you.  We do our best to verify these opportunities, but we do ask that you look into them on your own, as well.



The Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program, bought to you by Executive Women International (EWI), is a program for the benefit of nontraditional students pursuing an associates, bachelor or master’s degree, or a technical/professional certificate.

Grilla Grills National Culinary Scholarship

A family-owned company, Grilla Grills is offering a $500 scholarship to a culinary student enrolled in a U.S. accredited culinary arts program for the 2019 school year.

Autolist used car to dream car scholarship

Offering a quarterly scholarship opportunity to students who are U.S. residents and either 1.) in high school and will be attending an accredited college or university in the next school year or 2.) are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

The AmericanMuscle Automotive Scholarship is awarded twice in the spring and twice in the fall to students enrolled full-time or high school seniors studying “an automotive themed major.”  Each award is in the amount of $2,000.

The Help Your Loved one Scholarship provides $1,000 to one student who has helped an elderly loved one in some way.

This Health Care Scholarship offers $1,000 to students pursuing a medical-related course of study.

disABLEDperson, Inc./ReelAbilities Film Festival Spring 2019 National Scholarship

The disABLEDperson, Inc/ReelAbilities Film Festival Spring 2019 National Scholarship is for college students with disabilities.  The winner of the essay writing competition will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship.

Scooters N’Chairs Spring 2019 Student Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship opportunity, available every semester, is eligible for any 18 years or older student currently registered at an accredited university or college and with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

SCHOLARSHIPS for Student Caregivers

Caring.com has a number of scholarship opportunities for students who are also caregivers to their loved ones.  You can view a full list of these opportunities on their “Scholarships for Student Caregivers” page.  One scholarship is particular, the Caring.com Scholarship, offers two $1,500 awards to students who are enrolled in college while caring for an adult relative.

Adrian Rubin Scholarship

This $1,200 scholarship opportunity is designed to help students attain their dream career.  Current high school senior accepted into a college who will be enrolled in 2019 and current college students who haven’t reached their last year yet are eligible to apply!
