Thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Elizabeth Welty, we established the Welty Award as a tool for college faculty and departments to develop new and innovative learning opportunities for students.
Every year, one three-year, $50,000 award will be provided to the project that best focuses on emerging trends and regional needs and that emphasizes subject matter that students need now and in the future. First year funding enables faculty teams to research emerging issues or trends affecting their field of instruction or industry, then revamp old curriculum, create new coursework and/or programs, and expand academic planning development. Second year funding is dedicated to faculty and staff training, with third year funding committed to implementation.
