A Letter from Our Executive Director

CCS Foundation Community,

As you know, changes are happening rapidly in our community – and adapting to those changes is no different for the Community Colleges of Spokane or the CCS Foundation. CCS has taken appropriate steps to ensure the health of our students and staff, while continuing to provide a cutting-edge curriculum for our students.

The Foundation team is moving forward with the same focus on continuing our good work while keeping safety in mind. In the coming weeks, much of our staff will be working remotely, with a few staff members taking turns to keep our office open. While we may not be in our Riverpoint office, know that our Foundation team is working to continue our mission of providing the support and encouragement CCS students need to stay focused on their schooling and achieving their dreams.

For now, here is some helpful information as we move forward:

  • You can still reach us! Each staff member can be reached at their individual email, and our main line and general email are still being checked throughout the day: 509-434-5123 and foundation@ccs.spokane.edu

  • Face-to-face meetings. Most of our face-to-face meetings are being moved to teleconferencing or videoconferencing. In the coming days, someone from our team will reach out to discuss how this will affect any scheduled meetings with you.

  • SipSwirl&Savor. Our annual wine gala has been canceled but our auction and paddle raise will instead be held online! Watch for more information on how you can still support our students at a virtual event on April 25.

  • Other Events. Other events between now and the end of April will be rescheduled. You can always find the latest event information on our website at www.ccsfoundation.org/Attend-an-Event

  • Continuing to Support Our Students. Now more than ever, our students need our support to continue their education. That’s why our Foundation Board allocated $30,000 to a new fund to purchase laptops for students who will now need to complete their courses online. We remain dedicated to supporting our students, as we know you do. You can stay up-to-date on the work we’re doing and support our students with a donation on our website, www.ccsfoundation.org. Your continuing generosity continues to remove barriers to success.

  • What else? Visit https://ccs.spokane.edu/News-Events/Coronavirus for additional information on how CCS is responding. The Foundation will also provide updates through our social media and email.

This is an unprecedented time, and I know that you stand with us in our support of our students. We’ll stay in touch in the coming weeks and, as always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued dedication to our CCS students.

Take care,

Heather Beebe-Stevens
Executive Director
