Donor Brings Educational Gift to Community This Holiday Season

Across the nation and the inland northwest, friends and families are preparing for a different kind of holiday season. Dinners will be had over video chat, traditions will be made virtual, and holiday well-wishes will be sent via cards and text messages this year.

Boy coloring in a page of a coloring bookThanks to Foundation donor organization David and Dorothy Pierce Charitable Trust, families will have a new holiday activity to share with their household!

The CCS Bright Future Ahead coloring book was created this summer. Each page features Skitch, our Sasquatch, attending different classes across CCS. In one, he’s an aviation maintenance student working in a hangar. “If I was a superhero, I’d want to fly,” Skitch says. “In Aviation, I can learn about how planes stay in the air and how to fix engines.” In another, he’s a professor, writing on the chalkboard and talking about his favorite subjects.

Sasquatch on a roadThe coloring book, which also features information on our colleges, is a great opportunity for families to work together to bring Skitch to life. The Pierce Charitable Trust generously funded the project, wanting to bring an educational opportunity to our community this holiday season.

Books were given to families at several 2nd Harvest events this fall. To every family in our Foundation community, we wish you happy holidays!
