Dee Bland - December Sasquatch Celebrity!

Dee in the Sasquatch Celebrity borderI have been employed in administration with CCS since 2010 in many different areas (IEL, SCC, CCS – HeadStart, Admissions/Registration, Student Success, Workforce Transitions, Dual Enrollment, ReEntry, Student Recruitment/Campus Visits, Counseling).  I currently work in the District as the Executive Assistant to the Provost.

Why do you support the CCS Foundation?
My reasons for donating originally were personal because I had two kids, a husband and brother all attending SCC & SFCC simultaneously and needed some financial assistance.  The Foundation came through for my family and I wanted to be a part of that kind of help for someone else.  I previously donated to the unrestricted impact fund because I wanted my donation to have the greatest impact with little or no restriction.  However, I recently learned that for International students, there are so many restrictions and sometimes it seems next to impossible to find scholarships for them, therefore I switched my donation to the Hanke International Fund.

Donating to the foundation gives me the opportunity to not only impact our future, but to impact the world.

Tell us the one place in the world you want to visit and why!
The one place in the world that I would like to visit is an African country.  My reasons are many, but mainly to discover and reclaim my ancestral roots.  I believe that you can’t truly change/impact your future if you don’t know your past/history.
