Meet Steve Hauschild, our March Board Sasquatch Celebrity!

Steve Hauschild is a member of the CCS Foundation Board of Directors and is Director of Business Lending, Eastern WA and OR with BECU.

1. What CCS Foundation program or scholarship do you support and why? 

We provide support Unrestricted Impact that allows the Foundation to direct the funds to where they can best be used when the need has been identified.
 

2. Why do you choose to donate to the Foundation?

The Community Colleges of Spokane provide a great value to students and serve as a catalyst for so many in our area to realize their potential and more. Two of our sons have graduated from the Community Colleges and we have enjoyed programs over the years. The Community Colleges provide access to a broad range of careers and allows people to recreate themselves when they want to grow again. 

3. Fun Fact: If you could meet any fictional character, who would you like to meet?

Samwise Gamgee from Lord of the Rings. He is a Hobbitt of great character and wisdom. 

“It's like the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad has happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. I know now folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something. That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for.”
