The Mark Anderson Memorial Fund

Sometimes, we meet a person who leaves a lasting impression, inspiring us with their knowledge or their heart.

That’s exactly what happened to an entire site at Novelis after getting to know Mark Anderson.

Mark is an alum of ours who graduated from the SCC Machinist program. In his career, he was listed as the inventor on seven patents and worked at Novelis for 14 years, developing and implementing process improvements at their plants. Novelis is a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider and the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling.  

Mark courageously lost is fight to ALS in January of 2022. Mark knew the value of continuing education; to honor him and create a lasting legacy, the team at Novelis started a scholarship that supports SCC Machining students.

“This scholarship supports the next generation of inventors and machinists, like Mark,” Christine DeGeare, Scholarship and Alumni Relations Manager, said.
