Sasquatch Celebrity - Meet Macki

Macki joined CCS Human Resources in September of 2021, just two months after moving to Spokane. Having spent the first ten years of her career in student services, Macki has used her communication skills and ability to connect with others to serve in varying specialties within HR including Training & Development, Recruitment, and now with On/Offboarding.

Macki and husbandWhat CCS Foundation program or scholarship do you support and why?

My first contribution the CCS Foundation was my entry in the Bigfoot Golf event last summer. It was an extremely well organized and executed event, and although my team, the JEMS, was the last team on the course, we had the best time! It was such a joy to be with friends, in the sun (and rain), while supporting the Foundation.

I then began monthly payroll deductions to the Impact Fund during the Foundation’s Give $5 campaign in celebration of their 50th anniversary. I support the Impact Fund because it allows the experts to assign funds to the areas of greatest need.

Macki and dogWhy do you choose to donate to the Foundation?

I give to the Foundation because it is a way to put my values into action. Making a small monthly donation helps support an accessible educational experience, something that I believe should be a right for all.

What is something people don’t know about you?

I love being outside. Simple daily walks with my dog and partner are the best part of my day. Weekend family hikes sustain me. I love snowshoeing, cycling, gardening, and running. And there’s nothing more relaxing than reading a good romance in a hammock in the back yard.

Want to support our students like Macki does? Join us in making potential possible!

Sasquatch Celebrity is a monthly feature in On the Inside that introduces CCS to the staff who support the CCS Foundations students and programs.
