The CCS Foundation is excited to share that we have been awarded a grant from the Avista Foundation!
The award, received this summer, supports emergency aid awards for our Spokane and Spokane Falls Community College students. It will help 32 students stay focused on school and reach graduation.
Emergency aid is a retention issue. Students often face barriers to completing their education because they’re trying to cover childcare costs, rent, snow tires for driving to school, glasses for reading the board and screen in class and more.
Emergency aid awards provide a comprehensive solution to this problem. Last year alone, the Foundation provided our students with 371 scholarship and emergency aid awards. These awards totaled over $401,000.
The Avista Foundation has been a generous and dedicated support of CCS students for more than a decade.
We are so grateful for their continuing support of our students.
