The CCS Foundation is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Johnston-Hanson Foundation!
 
The grant funds five full annual scholarships for students. This means that a student’s tuition and fees are covered for the year. The scholarship is open to any SCC or SFCC students, regardless of program. Students will be able to apply for funding starting next month.
 
Scholarships are a retention issue. We know that Foundation-supported students had nearly a 30% higher rate of retention or completion. Our CCS students face financial issues with accessing and completing their education, from covering the cost of tuition to basic needs like childcare and rent.
 
Funding through scholarships and emergency aid provides a comprehensive solution to this problem. Last year alone, the Foundation provided our students with over $461,000 in scholarship and emergency aid awards.
 
The Johnston-Hanson Foundation has been a generous and dedicated supporter of CCS students, and we are so grateful for their continuing generosity!
